Anni Holliday

Windows

Inspired by the author's own beloved hometown in Scotland, this is a colourful, amusing, poignant and suspenseful celebration of small-town life, the people who live and work in it, their families, livelihoods, histories and relationships. This apparently idyllic location and way of life are, however, under threat from a stranger who visits the town in order to wreak revenge on one of the shopkeepers.

New book coming

I’m now working on a book which is a sequel to Windows, although it carries forward only some of the key characters from that book and adds many more, all of whom I hope are very strong.  It’s still very much based on the town, its inhabitants and surrounding area though.

Strangely, I’ve adopted a very different way of writing this one.  For Windows, possibly because it was my first published work, I made a rough plan, though I didn’t always stick to it completely.  This time, I’ve had an idea and just started to run with it.  I’m making good progress so far but I do feel I’ll probably get to the point where I run out of steam and have to fall back on old methods!   It will be interesting to see how it plays out.

Given my first granddaughter is due in the summer, this one could be a while in the making.  I’d better get as much done as I possibly can before she comes on the scene!  Perhaps it will be a children’s book next?
